As the summer winds down the US Moth Fleet gets heated up!
The US Moth Fleet will start the fall and winter season by heading out to San Diego. The SoCal fleet has been one of the fastest growing in the country and this will be their first event with many new faces. Included in this group is the National Champion from the 1960's Doug halsey as well as DN World Champion Matt Struble and recent addition to Team Oracle USA, Andrew Campbell. With a few of the east coasters coming over, this event will be will a great showdown.
In November the US Fleet will start its preparation for the 2015 Worlds (Australia in Jan) with a 2 for 1 special in the Florida Keys. Nov 14-16 for the Florida State Championships and then the Key Largo Open Nov 21-23. The regattas will be hosted by the Upper Keys Sailing Club which have also graciously allowed us to stay and train in between the events. Those going to the worlds will load their boats up in a shipping container after this event.
The big event of the year is always the World Championship. This year is is being held in Sorrento, Australia where the US Team will be represented by 10-15 Americans.
After the worlds, the US fleet will gather in Miami, Florida in March for the final event of the winter
